Currents and rhythm

with 1 Comment

Hello Friends,

As far as I know the ocean current can’t been seen by the naked eye but it can still pull you miles down the beach whether20160101_132553 you want it to or not. Rhythm, music, life, all have a current, a pull, a motion that we can feel but not always see. As we play, move, and explore in rhythm we experience over and over how we, individually and as a group, ride the current, get thrown by it, jump into it, and sometimes get sucked under and spit out somewhere we didn’t expect at all. In rhythm, unlike in the ocean, we are in the safety of community and firm ground. Come play, take a dip, dandle a toe, or hold your breath for a cannonball. Step, clap, sing, swim…. kinda.

Peace,
Jacob

I have been stepping into the rhythmic waters with my berembau. Thanks for all of your past teachings, Jacob. And I look forward to the next time we can play together. Much love.
